Are you excited about some smartphones?
Samsung has scheduled its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year for February 1st. Samsung has dropped a lot of hints about what’s on deck and it looks like it’s going to be an exciting show for tech lovers. For years, Samsung has used its post-CES event to unveil its flagship Galaxy S smartphones and various other products. This year, it looks like new Galaxy Book laptops are on deck. We know more about the former than the latter.
Thanks to numerous rumors and leaks, we have a good idea of what the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra will bring. For example, the design will be largely carried over from 2022. Galaxy S22 series, which means the 6.1-inch S23, 6.6-inch S23+ and 6.8-inch S23 Ultra. The phones will be made of aluminum and glass and come in a variety of colors with huge rear-mounted camera lenses.

Inside, we expect to find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor with plenty of RAM and storage. There’s a chance the phones will offer Qualcomm’s new satellite messaging feature, which has been hinted at coming to the device in the near future. We also suspect that the S23 Ultra will have the massive 200MP primary camera sensor that Samsung recently announced(Opens in a new window).
Finally, Samsung’s mobile head TM Roh stated that the phones will be interesting. “The upcoming Galaxy is all about the camera, performance and sustainability,” says Roh. “That’s why our professional camera system is getting smarter. Our performance is getting more powerful. And our communication is getting smoother.”
When it comes to laptops, it’s a different story. Samsung in 2022 Mobile World Congress debuted a range of Galaxy Book Pro hardware, and the company is ready to give its Galaxy Book line ultra status. We just don’t know much more.
Whether or not Samsung has anything else in store for Galaxy Unpacked 2023, we’ll have to wait until February 1st to find out.
