Mother Dairy hikes milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in Delhi-NCR

Mother Dairy Company has decided to increase the price of milk 2 per liter in the Delhi-NCR market with reference to the increase in input charges from Tuesday.

This is the fifth round of milk price hike this year by Mother Dairy, one of the leading milk suppliers in Delhi-NCR with a volume of over 30 lakh liters per day.

Mother Dairy Company considered the reason for the increase in prices to be the increase in the cost of raw milk from the company’s farmers.

He pointed out that the prices of raw milk have increased by 24% last year due to higher input costs and heat wave conditions.

This pressure on raw milk prices is being felt across the industry, putting pressure on consumer prices. In our commitment to pay farmers premium prices to reduce the impact, we are strictly limited to modifying the consumer prices of selected milk varieties. It will be applicable in Delhi NCR from 27th December 2022,” Mother Dairy said.

As a responsible organization, the company said it has always strived to strike the right balance between farmers and consumers. “…Therefore, we are passing on the increased input costs to consumers partially in select categories and in a phased manner.”

Mother Dairy passes on about 75-80% of the prices paid by consumers to milk producers.

This company has had several rounds of price increases this year. The last increase was on November 21, when the price of cream milk increased by 1 riyal per liter and token milk. 2 per liter in the Delhi-NCR market.

Earlier, Mother Dairy had increased the price of whole milk and cow’s milk in October 2 per liter in Delhi-NCR and some other markets in North India.

Rates increased by 2 per liter for all types in March and August as well.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets milk under the brand name Amul, is also a major player in the Delhi-NCR market. Nearly 40,000 liters are sold daily. Milk production in India, the world’s largest producer, is around 210-220 million tons annually.
