iPhone and Android smartphones come with built-in Password security solutions including pattern locks, password locks, PIN code locks, fingerprint locks and Face ID. As people are now more concerned about the privacy and security of their smartphones, setting a lock pattern or passcode has become a necessity.
Android smartphones have a feature called Smart Lockwhich allows users to skip an action to access applications and services.

Google users can use the Smart Lock feature with Chromebook devicesandroid devices, Chrome browser and several applications. The share feature turns off the PIN or passcode when you use your phone while moving your body when you are a trusted on site or when using a trusted device (such as a portable device). This feature allows you to easily unlock your phone with three options:
Body detection: If you have already unlocked your phone once, it will continue to be unlocked when you hold or carry it. You won’t need to unlock your phone again until it’s in your pocket.
Trusted places: With this feature, you can choose specific locations where your phone will never show the lock screen or ask for authentication. The feature generates a reliable location using the GPS sensor.
Trusted devices: When you know you’ll always be in control of your phone, you can tell your phone to bypass the lock screen when it’s connected to a specific Bluetooth device (smartwatch, headphones, etc.).
Here’s a step-by-step guide to enable Smart Lock on your Android smartphone:
- Go to your phone
Settings The menu. - Then go to Password and security tab.
- Tap it System security variant.
- According to Device security tab, tap Smart Lock variant.
- Enter your own Lock screen password.
- Then select Body detection tab and activate Use body detection to switch
- Choose Trusted places option on the previous page.
- By tapping Add trusted places button, you can add your trusted locations.
- Go back to the previous page and select Reliable devices variant from there.
- Choose Add a trusted device option on the next page to add them.
- Once setup is complete, Smart Lock the feature will be enabled on your Android smartphone.
Smart Lock is enabled Samsung Galaxy Smartphones
This feature is also available on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and can be easily enabled. Here’s how it’s done:
- Go to Settings menu on your Galaxy smartphone.
- Go to Lock screen tab.
- Tap it Smart Lock variant.
- Enter your own Lock screen password.
- Enable Body detection function, add trusted places and reliable devices as you did on your Android phone.
